The Friends of McIntosh Veterans will once again be sponsoring the Memorial Day program, both in person and on Garden Valley/online on Monday, May 26th. Here is the timeline:

9:45 AM: Choir practice at the Community Center, under the direction of Garnet Aanenson and accompanied by Diane Boucher. We welcome all singers!

10:15 AM: Color guard, youth (under the guidance of Heather Hegre) and Win-E-Mac High School Band (under the direction of Amanda Schulz) meet at the 1st National Bank parking lot and begin the parade to the Community Center at 10:20-10:25. Color guard members, please pick up the flags from the Community Center before lining up.

10:30 AM: Star-Spangled Banner outside of the Community Center, followed by the inside program. Janice Aanenson will lead the program. Invocation by Pastor Jerry Moan, and address by Chaplain Doug Hedman. East Polk County Quilters will present Quilts of Honor to Alan Carver and Todd Goodwin.

11:15 AM: Wreath-laying service on the school lawn, with the Honor Roll called by Ben Ramse and Taps played by Joe Collova.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will be providing lunch at the Community Center following the program. Also, the Friends of McIntosh Veterans will be selling poppies that morning; please consider making a donation to the organization. We work hard to honor those from our community who have proudly served our country.

1:00 PM: Online program airs on Garden Valley TV, Channel 30. This is not a broadcast of the in-person program, but honors our veterans in a different format, including photos of the veterans in the Honor Roll. The program airs again at 7:00 PM.

The online program will also be available later that day on the Friends of McIntosh Veterans website (www.friendsofmcintoshveterans.com) as well as the organization’s Facebook page.

Thank you to all of the men and women who have served our country, and for the continued support of the McIntosh community to honor them.
